Yes, and it is free. "Walkers Demo" launched on October 19, 2026 as its own Steam app (5368490), Windows-only, with Steam achievements, stats and leaderboards enabled and a link back to the full game.

Windows PC via Steam only. Steam marks Windows as supported and Mac and Linux as unsupported; no Mac, Linux or console version has been announced. Requirements are listed on the system requirements page.

Not at launch. Steam lists only Single-player and Family Sharing — there is no co-op, online PvP or multiplayer category.

CO-OP is on the developer's Planned Features list alongside archery, climbing, swimming, fishing and farming, with no date or detail. Do not buy the game expecting to play with friends on October 30.

Unconfirmed The Steam metadata for the app includes an Early Access genre entry and "Early Access" appears among the community tags, but the purchase area shows a plain planned-release-date banner with no Early Access disclaimer text.

Either the game launches in Early Access without that banner in this locale, or the tag is stale. Practically: expect balance changes, new content and unfinished systems after launch, because the developer is still shipping fundamental features (item durability, among others) in the final week before release.

Yes — in Survival mode. The two announced modes work like this:

• Campaign: on death you lose the items you were carrying and respawn at your outpost.
• Survival: permadeath — your death resets the world.

In the demo build, carried gear drops as a recoverable Belongings Sack marked on your map, and you respawn at your marked bed, sleeping bag or tent (or your bonfire if you never marked one).

Yes. The developer added full gamepad support in the demo build: adaptive triggers, haptics, vibration settings and complete button remapping. Keyboard and mouse remains the default, with E as the main interact key and middle mouse for demolish.

Steam lists 8 GB of available space for both minimum and recommended specs. That is the published figure for the base game; expect it to grow with post-launch patches. The demo's install size is not published.
